What is Molluscum Contagiosum?
Molluscum contagiosum is a common viral skin infection that causes small, smooth, dome-shaped bumps on the skin. It is caused by the molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV), a member of the poxvirus family. The condition is generally harmless and is most common in children, but it can also affect adults.
Common Symptoms
* Small, firm, flesh-colored or pink bumps
* Smooth, dome-shaped lesions with a central dimple (umbilication)
* Usually painless but may become itchy or inflamed

How Does It Spread?

* Avoid scratching or picking the lesions.
* Keep lesions covered during close-contact activities.
